Russell Miller, 49, was arrested about 5 p.m. at his home on Laurel Lane and charged with impersonating a public servant. He allegedly pretended to be Zappala when he went into Rollie's tobacco shop on Route 8 in Center Township on Wednesday, told an employee he had been shorted on merchandise, and made off with two packs of cigarettes.

The Butler County sheriff's office says the men fell some 100 feet after their scaffolding failed in a rural area. Sgt. Randall Lambert says one man was dead at the scene Friday evening, while the second was pronounced dead as efforts were made to get him to a hospital via Air Care helicopter.

Candace Kelly, of Sarver, was originally charged last fall after authorities found 64 pounds of hydroponically grown marijuana and nearly $400,000 in cash at her home in Buffalo Township.

A federal judge on Tuesday denied a request to freeze an anticipated $150 million to $200 million legal fee due to Kids for Cash figure Robert J. Powell for his litigation in an environmental contamination settlement. Gregory R. Zappala, a former business partner of Powell, and attorneys representing hundreds of juveniles wrongly jailed by a former Luzerne County judge, sought a court-ordered freeze on 20-percent of the anticipated multi-million dollar fee to prevent Powell from hiding money to be used to compensate juveniles in a pending civil case in federal court.

Fire crews were called to battle flames at a business in Franklin Township, Butler County, Saturday morning. The fire broke out at Trader Horn on New Castle Road shortly after 10:30 a.m. "The fire was all contained to the attic area of the structure.
