Judicial officials in Egypt say an appeals court has ordered a retrial in an internationally criticized mass trial, overturning 37 death sentences. Initially, more than 500 suspected backers of ousted Islamist President Mohammed Morsi were sentenced to death last March in a swift, two-day trial in Minya.

A top official at the European Central Bank says getting the euro down was not a prime consideration of the bank's recently announced 1.1 trillion-euro stimulus. Benoit Coeure, an executive board member at the ECB, told a panel at the World Economic Forum in the Swiss ski resort of Davos on Saturday that the fall in the euro since Thursday's announcement was one of the consequences of the stimulus but "not the most important consideration."

The official says Lebanese troops found the bodies of three missing soldiers Saturday on the outskirts of the northeastern Lebanese village of Ras Baalbek. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity in line with regulations, said the attackers belong to the Islamic State group that controls large parts of Syria.

Experts searching for the remains of Miguel de Cervantes hope they are entering the final phase of their nine-month quest to solve the mystery of where the great Spanish writer was buried. The author of "Don Quixote" was laid to rest in 1616 at the Convent of the Barefoot Trinitarians in Madrid's historic Barrio de las Letras, or Literary Quarter, but the exact whereabouts of his grave within the tiny convent chapel are unknown.

A district attorney has rejected a proposed lie detector deal for a man charged with molesting two young girls at a western Pennsylvania daycare center operated by his wife. An assistant Butler County prosecutor had offered to let 65-year-old Roger Young take a polygraph test instead of a preliminary hearing.
