Wisconsin Student Shot After Pulling A Gun

Waukesha South High School is located about 20 miles or 32 km west of Milwaukee.
The school was put on lockdown today and then dismissed after a shooting, reports Reuters.
The incident occurred after a student pulled out a handgun and refused to stand down.
When the student did not respond to the school resource officer’s insistence, he was shot.
The officer attempted de-escalation efforts prior to drawing and shooting his weapon.
The 17-year-old male shooter was transported to the hospital and is in stable condition.
No officers or other students were injured in the incident.
