This mom of 5 is graduating from law school and she’s thanking her kids for the motivation. As a child, Iesha Champs grew up in foster care. After dropping out of high school and becoming a teenage mother, a leader at Champs’ church encouraged her to go back to school and follow her dream of becoming a lawyer. And, despite her difficult journey, Champs says she never gave up: “I ended up having a house fire, I lost everything I had. I got laid off from my job, the father to two of my children died of cancer while I was seven months pregnant, I literally tried to kill myself, and I ended up going back to get my GED.” She spent the next decade earning an associate’s and bachelor’s degree while caring for her 5 kids. Now she’s thanking her family for all their support. She says her kids and her faith helped lead the way and hopes to work on family and juvenile law.
